If you select a different slot from the drop-down menu, CPU-Z will tell you additional information about the RAM that is installed.
Examine the motherboard
Sometimes the best way to determine the available memory slots is to open the computer and examine the motherboard. Opening the computer is the best option if were unable to get the Windows Task Manager or CPU-Z to work.
Looking inside the case, the motherboard is the primary large circuit board. On most motherboards, the memory slots are on either side of the CPU, and resemble what is shown below.
Most computer motherboards have two, three, or four memory slots. Some higher-end motherboards have as many as eight. The above motherboard picture above has no memory modules installed in any of its three slots.
NoteIf your computer has no memory slots available and you want to upgrade, you must remove and replace some of the existing memory.

Lenovo’s contender in the lowest-end Windows notebook arena is the G50-30 model. This 15.6-incher is priced at $250. As expected, Lenovo had to make many concessions to lower the price. Processor performance is among the lowest on the market, RAM and hard drive capacities are the lowest available, and there’s no built-in DVD optical drive. The CPU inside the Lenovo G50-30 is the Intel Celeron N2830 “Bay Trail” dual-core. It provides acceptable speed only for basic computing, like text processing, web surf, social networking, and multimedia consumption. RAM size of only 2GB instead of normally 4GB will possibly be a bottleneck if you throw heavier multitasking at the system, like having many web browser tabs and programs opened at the same time. Hard drive space is 320GB, whereas the average budget notebooks including those with 250-dollar price tags have at least 500GB.
With these restraints, the Lenovo G50-30 can hardly compete against laptops such as the Toshiba Satellite C55-B5201 or Asus X551MAV-RCLN06. True, they’re based on the same CPU, but offer 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD capacity, and built-in DVD drives. And with discounts, they are cheaper than the G50-30.
On the positive side, the Lenovo has a nice streamlined design, although the chassis is made of plastics. It has a nice brushed-metal-looking finish on the palm rest and a slim profile of 1 inch. Also, the keyboard with AccuType ergonomic keys is often praised for its comfort. Backlight on it is missing, but that’s no surprise.
As usual, the screen resolution is 1366×768 pixels, while for sound reproduction there’s a pair of stereo speakers. The webcam has 720p resolution.
The G50-30 has a well-rounded connectivity feature set. There are two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, both HDMI and VGA video output jacks, a multiformat media card reader, Wi-Fi wireless connection, Ethernet LAN network port, and Bluetooth.
Another good thing is provided access to RAM and hard drive via doors on the bottom of the chassis for easier upgrades and the battery is user-removable.

The included battery has 32 Whr capacity. Lenovo claims it provides a power autonomy of up to four hours.
